True success in the world of triathlon isn’t simply about crossing the finish line. It’s about the process of setting goals, being determined to reach them and most importantly, the learning that takes place along the way.
It’s one thing to have a solid training plan, but an entirely new world opens up once you understand the reasoning behind the individual elements! That’s why my goal as a coach is to develop the whole athlete rather than just the technical side. I’ve found that if you understand the rationale behind the plan, you’ll not only feel more purposeful in your workouts but you’re more likely to enjoy them too.
I view consistency as one of the most important variables in determining success. Doing the hard work of committing to a training plan and communicating regularly with your coach reduces the likelihood of injury, accelerates progress and keeps you motivated. Only by pushing your limits and hitting key targeted workouts, will you make your goals a reality!
