Opening Thoughts

Hi Everyone –
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you and that I appreciate your continued support of my web site, newsletter, and coaching services. Two years ago when I left the REAL 9-5 WORLD to go on my own, there was a lot of anxiety and doubt of what would happen. Will the bills get paid? Will I end of living in a 1973 VW van in Nowhere, USA? Will my girlfriend (now wife) dump me because I couldn’t afford to buy her Ben and Jerry’s? These are actual thoughts that went through my little head.
As some of you know, it’s not easy to give up the nice job, the nice office, and the steady pay check to go out and work in a profession that you actually love but may not be as lucrative initially. There are sacrifices, struggles, doubts, and little victories once in a while but most of all you just keep plugging along. Sounds kind of like a race doesn’t it? My point is, each time one of you puts on a D3 cycling jersey, hat, running shirt, or you race in D3 gear, you are helping to get the word out about my services and l appreciate that more then words can say.
One of my initial goals was to have a group of athletes at the Boulder Peak racing in my Team D3 gear. Between the Denver Danskin and Boulder Peak triathlons this past August, I was very proud to see you out there giving it your all and representing my coaching services and mostly seeing how proud you were of yourselves. I can’t tell you how many people came up to me after those two races and said, “Man, your athletes were everywhere!” – That is such a good feeling to hear that I get goose bumps just thinking about it. In the next two years I would like to take the D3 presence to the National Level whether it be the LA Triathlon, Mrs. T’s, Columbia or Alcatraz. Stay tuned, as this will be one fun trip that you won’t want to miss! In closing, I want to say thanks and I appreciate your continued support. Now that the coach is done being sappy, get your butts back in gear and get your workouts done today! Enjoy the newsletter!

Train Smart and Race Fast!
Sincerely,
Mike Ricci
