The information contained in this newsletter is the opinion of Mike Ricci and D3 Multisport on endurance training, racing, and nutrition. These points are suggestions on how to train and not recommendations for athletes. Opening Thoughts

The purpose of this e-letter is two-fold. First I would like to share information on training/racing techniques that I have developed in my fifteen years of racing/coaching. If you think there is something valuable in here that others could use, please pass it on. If there is something that you would like to see in here, send me an email. I have developed a large network of great resources and I if I don’t have the answer, I will know someone who does.  Secondly, this e-letter will be my personal space to brag about the athletes I coach and give them the praise they deserve—after all—it’s the athlete that does the hard work.

Train Smart, Coach Mike

D3 Athletes in the News
At Loveland, Steve Halvorson took 6th in his AG. Chuck Anderson finished 3rd in the solo division at the Xtreme Adventure Race - congrats to Coach Mark on some good coaching as well. Joe Lavine went to the Half Max and finished with a 5:40 - very solid result as he gets ready for IMC. Jen Hardy ran to ANOTHER PR in the Durango Half Marathon, way to go Jen!
Special Congratulations to: Iona MacKenzie rolled to a 11:13 IM in Austria! Congrats to Coach Erik as well - good job coach!

Join Coach Mike on the IRON TOUR!
This summer I will be traveling to all the US Ironman races – Idaho, NY, WI, and FL! My plan is to ride and run each course a few days before the actual race – a little recon, if you will. If you are planning on racing in 2005 and will be at this year’s competition, feel free to join me for a free course tour. You can ask me all the questions you want for as long as it takes us to ride the course. If you would like to join me for a ride or run, please let me know, as I would enjoy the company!
