Issue 094 - June 2010

Dear Athlete,

The racing has begun and D3 athletes around the country are racing hard and reaching their goals. For the coaches it's a nervous time and we sweat out each weekend hoping everything goes right for our athletes. We want you to succeed as much as you do! This month Coach Amy helps athletes stay organized on race day with a list of what to bring and how to be best prepared. Keeping with the race day theme, Coach Mike writes about the seven steps any athletes can take to get faster.

Our Athlete of the Month is Steve Bouey, who has an incredible story. He spent two and a half years traveling the world by SUV and was up for National Geographic Adventurer's Explorer of the Year Award. He recently competed in a 50k trail run and he let's us in on his trip and training. Our Sponsor of the Month is FuelBelt. Taking your preferred nutrition along on the run is made easy with FuelBelt. Their range of products is sure to have the right tool for the job. The training plan of the month is designed to take a solid athlete with a strong base through a Half Ironman based solely on effort and pace. For those that hate technology, this is your plan! Speaking of racing Half Iromans, the D3 race party at the Boise 70.3 event was a big hit. D3 athletes raced well and had a great time!

The 2010 season is a great opportunity to reach your full potential. We hope the information in this newsletter will inspire you and help you get faster!

Train Happy,
Coach Mike
