Issue 090 - February 2010

Dear Athlete,

Winter is still upon us, but spring is right around the corner! When the warmer temps arrive, you want to be ready to get outside and go. The February newsletter is loaded with great information to help you be ready when it's go time! Coach Amy writes in about the art and science of coaching, and Coach A.J. gives us some tips on buying a new mountain bike. The Athlete of the Month is Tracy McIntire. He had quite a year in 2009 including P.R.'s at several distances and his first IM! Read about his training and motivation in the Q and A section. Coach A.J. checks in with his race report on the Frisco Gold Rush, a cross-country ski race. Find out more about this amazing winter sport and why it is such a great off-season option. Retul is our Sponsor of the Month. Along with spring training comes minor tweaks and changes to be more efficient. They've fit World Champions triathletes and cyclists, and they can certainly help you. Retul can help you on the bike, and the Training Plan of the Month can help you on the swim. This 8 week program will help you get faster for the first leg. We hope these articles help you get through the last weeks of winter and prepare you for a great 2010 season.

Happy Training,
Mike Ricci
