Issue 096 - August 2010

Dear Athlete,

The August newsletter is all abut transitioning into the fall season. Some of you are still gearing up for your last big A race while others are winding it down and looking to other goals. In this issue Coach Amanda gives you tips on how to train to have the perfect race while Coach AJ writes about why you need to step back to move forward and why fall is the best time to do that. The D3 Training Plan of the Month will help those of you thinking about a fall marathon achieve your best. This 20 week plan will get you ready to conquer all 26.2 miles. Our D3 sponsor of the month is Massagespecialist.com. Based in Boulder, the crew at Massagespecialists.com can help you recover faster and feel better. We also check in with athlete of the month Liz Larson. Liz started racing triathlons in 2007 and has made huge improvements since starting with Coach Amanda. Finally we have the end of year event you don’t want to miss. We have chosen the PumpkinMan triathlon on Oct. 23rd in Boulder City, N.V. as our end of the season race blowout! We are hoping to negotiate block hotel room pricing and will work to set up carpooling options.

Train Happy,
Coach Mike
