Testimonial for Mike Ricci - Jay Lochhead

“Ever thought of doing an Ironman? Scared to try one because it seems too difficult? Done one (or more) and thought that you could do better? A great coach can make all the difference.
Maybe you are asking “Is it worth the money?” It depends. How good is good enough for you? There is a saying “The good is the enemy of the best”. Do you just show up for life and not really live it? If you are reading this, I doubt it. Why do professional sports teams win Super Bowls or World Series? Yes, the players are talented, but coaching is the differentiator.
When I was looking to improve my triathlon times I looked to coach Mike Ricci. I really only went to Mike to swim a little better. I thought that I was “good enough” for my age at the other two parts of triathlon. Mike would have none of that. The swim coaching was successful; my swim times have improved from over two minutes per hundred to around 1:30 per hundred. More importantly, I also picked up speed on the bike and found myself with more energy running off the bike.
As a result of Mike’s coaching and a lot of my hard work (don’t get me wrong, it isn’t a free ride on the coach’s shoulders) I delivered PRs in the Sprint, International, Half IM, and Ironman distances in 2009. I am convinced that Mike’s coaching was a HUGE part of those PRs.
If either finishing your first Ironman is your goal or breaking through self imposed limits to achieve what you are truly capable of, Mike can help you do it.
Try a few of Mike’s reasonable workout plans or go “all in” and sign up with a D3 coach at www.d3multisport.com.
